On Friday 23rd October, Jude and I attended the CEDIA Smart Home Awards at the Natural History Museum in London.
For those who don't know, CEDIA is essentially our trade organisation for the residential technology world. I’m a certified CPD instructor through CEDIA, and the RIBA and BIID accredited sessions we deliver to architects and interior designers in NI and ROI are written by them. If you’re interested, you can find out more about those here.
The CEDIA Awards were like none we've been involved with before. Even entering is a technical and engineering feat, with reams of documentation required to even prove eligibility before even getting a project before the judges.
After all our hard work, we were shortlisted for the Technology Beyond the Home award, which is given to elite smart system integration projects implemented outside traditional residential settings. We were the only company from Ireland to make a shortlist across award categories, and we were up against businesses from across EMEA to take home the prize.
Whilst we didn't come home with an award, being a finalist is an award in itself. And what a venue!
I have massive thanks to say to the whole Epitome Living team during the Warmflow project that was submitted for judging. You can find more information about what the project entailed here.
In short, we carried out work on the company’s Partnership Hub in Lisburn, which is the sales floor for demonstrating the range of home heating products it sells. We also installed tech in the company’s boardroom, giving Warmflow staff seamless connectivity to colleagues and customers all over the UK.
I need to thank Jordan and Amy in particular for their work getting together all the documentation and evidence required to get us in the running.
See below for some photos of the finished project at Warmflow, and do get in touch if you need something similar imagined and brought to life for your business.
