How much is a smart home?

It depends. As a guide, we say:

£5,000 will fit a single-purpose or single room smart system.

Whole-home systems including a wider range of automation sit at around £50,000.

Luxury packages with the full range of automation and add-ons like home cinema installation can reach £500,000.

Do you install home cinemas?

Yes, we design and install home cinemas.

How much is a home cinema?

The cost of a home cinema depends on many factors (read more here). As a guide, we say:

Media room: £15k–£30k

Dedicated home cinema: £30k–£60k

Luxury home cinema: £60k–£120k+

Can I fit some smart tech in my home now and do the rest later?

Yes! At the initial phase of your project we’ll be focusing on design. That’s when it’s most important to tell us about all your dreams for your space, even if some of those dreams will become reality in later phases of the project. Pre-wiring is extremely important to get right for these dreams to become reality, so we need to know early about what you want to install later down the line.

Can my smart system be hacked?

Not if your passwords are secure. You can read more about what ‘hacking’ actually means here.

What happens to my smart system if the internet goes down?

Your smart system will continue to work as normal. There’s no reliance on an internet connection for day-to-day operation of the smart systems we install. You can read more about what happens if the electricity goes out here.

can I install my smart system myself?

If you’re an electrician or electrical engineer, there’s no reason you can’t install your smart system yourself. We’ll design and build your panel then deliver it to you alongside the rest of the equipment you’ll need to install and commission the system. You can get in in contact about working together here.

do you offer aftercare?

Yes. Aftercare plans with Epitome Living come at a fixed monthly fee priced according to project location and the scale of your system. We highly recommend signing up to an aftercare plan with us to get the most out of your smart system for many years to come. Even if you don’t have an aftercare plan with us, aftercare is available for a fee if issues arise.

When should i get in touch to start my project?

For new builds: once planning permission has been granted as changes to layout will be minimal after this point (for architects reading: that’s no later than RIBA stage three, ideally).

For big renovation projects: if you're working with an architect, interior designer or other design professional, as soon as you have some initial drawings done. We'll guide you through the rest of the process

For media rooms, home cinemas, or boardrooms in an existing building: as early as possible, especially if there are other works going on (such as planned redecoration).

For outdoor projects at existing properties: any time, but if there's significant work being done, ahead of any digging so you have time for the design phase - we want to ensure your ground works are as efficient as possible with no pesky "extras".
