Challenge

The clients were embarking on the construction of their new home and needed a robust smart home solution capable of integrating a wide range of standalone systems, including networking, solar power, lighting, heat pump, EV charger, and MVHR. Their previous experience with a DIY, cloud-reliant setup left them dissatisfied - facing issues with continuity, intuitiveness, and long-term reliability. They were looking for a platform that was not only highly functional and energy-efficient but also intuitive to use and independent of the Cloud.

Solution

Epitome Living delivered a fully integrated home automation system using Loxone, designed from the ground up to meet the specific needs of the client. The Loxone platform enabled seamless coordination of all key systems - lighting, climate control, renewable energy, and more - into one intelligent, easy-to-use interface. From initial consultation through to final commissioning, Epitome’s team maintained a high level of professionalism and personalised service. The result was a scalable, customisable solution that is not only intuitive and efficient but also operates independently of cloud services, ensuring long-term reliability and security.

On the technical side, Epitome implemented Loxone’s Energy Meter Tree to provide real-time visibility and control over household energy flows. Integration with the SolarEdge inverter was achieved via Modbus TCP, enabling accurate solar production monitoring and optimisation. Both the MVHR system and the Panasonic heat pump were also connected using Modbus, allowing the Loxone Miniserver to intelligently manage ventilation and heating based on occupancy, time schedules, and energy availability. This level of deep integration ensures all systems work harmoniously to maximise comfort and energy efficiency while minimising manual input.
